Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes near Manay, Philippines

The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.7. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.7.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Manay (pop. 20,300) located 106 km from the epicenter, and San Ignacio (pop. 6,300) 107 km away.
