The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Indonesia near Padang, West Sumatra, only 9 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Sunday 3 January 2021 at 5:57 pm local time at a shallow depth of 11 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
