Jurgen Klopp aims barb at Man Utd after Old Trafford draw with pointed Arsenal warning - The Mirror

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has sent Manchester United a stern warning ahead of their meeting with Arsenal next month after their thrilling 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Klopp's Reds made the trip to Old Trafford to take on their fierce rivals knowing a win would be enough to put Liverpool two points clear at the top of the Premier League. Despite taking the lead early on through Luis Diaz, the visitors found themselves trailing with ten minutes to go thanks to two goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

However, a late Mohamed Salah penalty spared Liverpool's blushes, but was not enough to put them top of the pile. Instead, they sit in second, level on points with the league-leading Gunners, but behind them due to their significantly inferior goal difference.

With seven games still to play for all three sides battling it out for the title in Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, more slip-ups could still be on the way. United could even help the other two out if they manage to beat the Gunners in mid-May on the penultimate weekend of the season.

With that being said, Klopp isn't holding out much hope for any favours from the Red Devils. Pressed for comment on if he'd be supporting United when they host Arsenal, the Liverpool boss admitted: "Probably, If we are still around then that would be great.

"But Arsenal are a good football team. If they [United] play like today, Arsenal will win the game, I am 100% sure. I am sorry to say that."

Liverpool have faced United three times this term, but haven't got the better of them once. Two draws in the two league meetings that fell either side of United's shock 4-3 win in the FA Cup quarter-final mean the Red Devils have been a constant headache for Klopp this season.

Reflecting on the most recent two meetings, the Liverpool manager conceded his side should have won both of those fixtures. Klopp went on to reflect further on Sunday's result, adding: "I'm not over the moon about it.

"It's not the best result I have ever seen but I am fine with it. You shouldn't do what we do today constantly, that won't be enough. Definitely not. But we know that.

"We want to be there after the last matchday. It's obviously better to be there the whole time and have distance between you and the others. But we will keep going with all that we have."
