Luis Diaz's early goal ensured Liverpool secured a spot in the Carabao Cup final following a 1-1 draw against Fulham in Wednesday's semi-final at Craven Cottage.
With a 3-2 aggregate win against Fulham, Liverpool, the record nine-time winners of the Carabao Cup, are now set to meet Chelsea in the final on February 25. This showdown at Wembley will be a rerun of the 2022 finals where Liverpool triumphed on penalties.

Speaking after their win over Fulham, Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk hailed the atmosphere at Craven Cottage, while sying he is proud of his team for booking a spot in the final.
“We wanted to make sure we did the right things, Fulham played at home with a good atmosphere. We had to be ready to fight, we started the game very well and scored a good goal. We found a way and go to Wembley. I am proud of these guys. It is only the beginning for them. To go into a final with this performance is very good,” said Van Dijk.

Diaz's goal came in the 11th minute when he impressively chested down a high ball in the penalty area, cut inside, and took a shot that deflected and found its way past Bernd Leno ion goal.
The Fulham fans gained momentum when Issa Diop equalized in the 76th minute following a pass from ex-Liverpool player Harry Wilson.
Despite Fulham's pressing efforts until the final whistle, Liverpool, the current Premier League leaders, managed to hold onto their position, albeit with a few nervy moments towards the end.
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp called their campaign in the Carabao Cup a full cup experience, while adding that he’s looking forward to the final against Chelsea.
“It is fantastic. We had the experience before, we know what to expect. Again Chelsea wow what a story that is. This was the full cup experience. Open game, second half they started a bit wilder. We don't score. They got the equaliser. But the boys did really well and I am really happy,” said Klopp.
Earlier on Wednesday, January 24, Chelsea hammered Middlesbrough 6-1 in the second leg to book a spot in the Carabao Cup final, overcoming a 0-1 deficit from the first leg.
