On the last possession, Alex Abrines was inches away from desperate glory. He threw the ball on the run, and the hoop spat it out. That sealed Spain's fate, meaning there will be a new world champion in 2023.
As for Canada, they're into the quarter-finals and there they'll face the Slovenia of Luka Doncic.
