Alex Albon Crash: Second To Retire From Australian GP In Dramatic Start - Sports Illustrated

Alex Albon has been forced to retire from the Australian Grand Prix on just Lap 8.

The British-Thai driver had his best start of the season, starting the race in eighth place. He had been able to make up two places and was running in sixth place before he oversteered and span out before colliding into the race wall.

Thankfully Albon walked away from the crash.

The race is now under red-flag conditions and as we wait for the Australian Grand Prix to resume, Lewis Hamilton is currently sat in first followed by Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso. George Russell, who had been leading the race, decided to pit under the safety-car conditions, however, with it now being the red flag he is at a disadvantage sitting in seventh for the race start.

The race has already seen safety-car conditions after Charles Leclerc was forced to retire from the race after a collision at Turn 3 of Lap 1.
