Mino Raiola will meet AC Milan in the next few days to discuss a new contract for Alessio Romagnoli, after speaking with the reported Tottenham transfer target on Wednesday.

That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims Romagnoli had dinner with his agent to take stock of his situation. With the pair using the international break to meet up in Milan.

Raiola wanted to discuss all of Romagnoli’s options for the future, as the defender’s current deal expires in June. He last extended his terms in 2018, three-years after joining the club.

Romagnoli has instructed Raiola to now secure his future at AC Milan with a new contract. And the super-agent will meet the Rossoneri in the next few days to discuss terms, too.

ANTONIO CONTE WILL BE A SPURS DISASTER.

The 26-year-old had lost his place in Stefano Pioli’s backline last season following the arrival of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea. Injuries had limited the Rossoneri captain’s availability, but he has since regained a positive standing. Playing 11 times in 16 games so far this season.

Tottenham have been monitoring Romagnoli’s situation at the San Siro since hiring Antonio Conte, following the Italian’s summer departure from AC Milan’s inner-city rivals Inter.

Reports by Calciomercato.it claimed Conte wants Tottenham to eye a transfer for the Milan leader as Romagnoli’s situation may see the Rossoneri accept just €10m (£8.5m) in January.

Are Conte’s hopes of Tottenham transfer for Milan’s Romagnoli over?

Conte’s hopes of securing a transfer to Tottenham for AC Milan enforcer Romagnoli may not be over yet, however.

That’s because Gazzetta dello Sport claim the Rossoneri want him to considerably lower his wage in any new deal. Dropping from €6m-a-year (£97k-a/w) to around €3.5m (£56k-a/w).

If Romagnoli refuses, despite telling Raiola to discuss a new contract, Tottenham may have a chance to sign the defender from Milan to improve Conte’s backline in a January transfer.
