Inter Milan shook up Serie A last season by preventing Juventus from winning a 10th consecutive domestic league title, but lost star striker Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea on a big transfer. Juventus, meanwhile, brings back arguably the best player in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo and Euro 2020 champions Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chellini in defense. AC Milan expects be a factor with Zlatan Ibrahimovic showing a resurgence in his late 30s, while Roma, Atalanta and Napoli are also supposed to be in contention.

The favorite
Juventus (-110)
With Ronaldo leading the group, there’s no reason to think this team won’t reclaim the Serie A title. Paulo Dybala, Mattjis de Ligt, USMNT’s Weston McKennie and Aaron Ramsey form a potent core around Ronaldo. Juve has two big names in on loans with Alvaro Morata and Federico Chiesa to bolster a talented roster. This team is loaded once again and should bounce back from last season’s disaster finish.
The other contenders
Inter Milan (+350)
Inter Milan absolutely smashed the league last season, accumulating 91 points to beat runner-up AC Milan by 12 points. Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi are gone, but Lautaro Martinez is still in the mix along with Italians Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barelli. Christian Eriksen is on the team, but his status is unknown after a scary collapse at Euro 2020. Chile stars Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal round out a quality group capable of repeating.
Atalanta (+600)
This is one of the most exciting teams in the league due to its high-scoring attack. Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata headline the attack, but Ukraine’s Ruslan Malinovskyi is also worth mentioning. Matteo Pessina will look to build on a strong Euro campaign. Remo Freuler is another international in Atalanta’s squad. This team doesn’t have the biggest names, but it’s attacking, aggressive style plays well in Serie A.
AC Milan (+1200)
AC Milan is tied with Napoli at +1200, but is more likely to make noise in the title race based on recent history. Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic form a strong pair in front, but the loss of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma might be too big to overcome. AC Milan has young talent, but will the players be consistent enough to keep up with the league’s top teams?
Best bet to win league: Inter Milan (+350)
Since 2000-01, only four teams have won Serie A; Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma. The first two clubs only missed out on the title three times in this span. In all likelihood, it’ll come down to Juventus and Inter Milan again. Despite losing Lukaku, Inter brings back most of its squad and has some intriguing young players who did well over the summer. Juventus will be close the entire season, but + odds on the defending league champion is too good to pass up.
