Jadon Sancho: Man United duo Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes welcome new team-mate - Daily Mail

'Old Trafford are you ready?': Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire welcome new team-mate Jadon Sancho to Manchester United after the club FINALLY announce his £73m signing

Manchester United trio Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and club captain Harry Maguire have immediately welcomed new team-mate Jadon Sancho to the club.

United announced the £73million signing of Sancho on Friday afternoon, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally getting his man after trying and failing to sign the starlet last summer.

Sancho declared 'this is my club, this is where I belong, in his unveiling video, as negotiations with Borussia Dortmund were finally completed after the 21-year-old underwent a medical at United's Carrington base last week.

Having joined Borussia Dortmund from United's rivals Manchester City in 2017, Sancho went on to score an emphatic 50 goals in 137 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.

It's a signing, in terms of calibre, position and playing style, that United have been screaming out for, and the youngster's new team-mates are also clearly delighted, immediately jumping to social media to welcome the new signing.

2018-19:  43 games, 13 goals, 20 assists

2019-20:  44 games, 20 goals, 20 assists

2020-21: 38 games, 16 goals, 20 assists

With the deal finally announced, Rashford wrote: 'Yes x Welcome brother' as his England team-mate now also becomes his club team-mate.

Fellow England international Maguire was also quick to welcome the new signing, while Fernandes had a message both for Sancho and the United fans.

He said: Welcome to the club Jadon Sancho. I look forward to playing together. Old Trafford are you ready?'

Sancho is United's second signing of the summer, after Tom Heaton sealed a return to Old Trafford from Aston Villa in a free transfer.

The youngster could potentially be in line to play in a pre-season friendly against Everton on August 7, though that depends on his fitness, having reached the final of the European Championships with England on July 11.

Sancho thanked his former side Dortmund with the deal now complete, also insisting a move to United is a 'dream come true'.

He said: 'I'll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day.

'The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.

'This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.

'I am looking forward to working with the manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.'

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also had his say on the move.

'Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United,' Solskjaer said.

'He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom. His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.

'Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.

'For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.'
