Half time: France 1-0 Germany

After a tense opening 10 minutes the game livened up and it was France who got the opening goal, thanks to Mats Hummels turning the ball into his own net. Germany have had 50 percent possession but are yet to have a shot on target.

Minute 40: Germany need something more

Lucas Hernandez and Joshua Kimmich get in a tangle with the Frenchman insisting that he was kicked in the face by the German. He was, but it was completely accidental.

Minute 35: Gundogan chance

A great opportunity for Gundogan. Serge Gnabry does well and manages to loop the ball back into the box, it falls to the Manchester City man who can only put it wide.

Minute 30: Lloris comfortable

Germany have been good since going behind, but they are yet to test France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Germany have the slight advantage with possession but are yet to have a shot on target.

Minute 25: Germany reaction

Robin Gosens floats in a cross to Thomas Muller, but the Bayern Munich man can only put the ball wide. Toni Kroos then has a chance from a freekick just outside the penalty area which he smashes into the wall.

Minute 20: FRANCE GOAL

A searching ball over the Germany defence into the path of Lucas Hernandez on the left hand side, and the defender's low cross is fired across goal and is knocked into his own net by Mats Hummels. That's Germany's first ever own goal at the European Championships. France 1-0 Germany.

Minute 15: First warning from France

France have shown the first signs of the threat they pose. First Pavard gets to the goal line and his low cross is put out for a corner. Then from the resulting set piece, Pogba heads over from close range.

Minute 10: No flow

Not much action as yet in Munich as both teams feel each other out. France though have started to get on the ball a bit more after Germany's opening spell.

Minute 5: Good start from Germany

Five minutes into the game and Germany are on the front foot, keeping the ball well and, more importantly, away from France. Havertz, Muller and Gnabry in the German frontline look like they will be in a constant rotation.

Sylvain Distin to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I would be happy with a 2-1 win for France. The squad is a mix of personalities, Karim Benzema rejoined the national team and is an amazing player just because of his quality and performing for Real Madrid season after season.

"France are World Cup holders and it can only be exciting watching them at the moment. France are in a position where they are winning, possibly favourites, and will start the game thinking they are going to win. They are not wanting to be defensively strong, just offensively strong. The German team at the moment is rebuilding and want grow confidence."

20:30 CEST: Ballack wary of France

Michael Ballack to UEFA.com: "Germany are confident enough to know what they can do, but when the other side are world champions, you have to have one eye on them. Especially the strength of their individual players, who are outstanding and world class."

20:15 CEST: Neuer ton

Manuel Neuer will reach 100 caps for Germany when he lines up against France, the first German goalkeeper to do so. The team which Low has chosen is also the oldest Germany side - 28 years, 347 days - to start a major tournament since Euro 2000 - 30 year, 86 days.
