4.5 quake 8 May 2:42 pm (GMT -5)

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Trujillo, Provincia de Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru, was reported only 18 minutes ago by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate to considerable depth of 151 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Saturday 8 May 2021 at 2:42 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
