4.5 quake 3 May 8:00 am (GMT +9)

Just 11 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Obihiro, Obihiro Shi, Hokkaido, Japan. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Monday 3 May 2021 at 8:00 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 77.2 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.0 earthquake.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Obihiro (pop. 173,900) located 29 km from the epicenter, Otofuke (pop. 40,900) 37 km away, Shizunai-furukawachō (pop. 22,400) 68 km away, Shimo-furano (pop. 25,900) 93 km away, and Kushiro (pop. 183,600) 112 km away.
