Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Canegua (pop. 14) located 17 km from the epicenter, Puerto Armuelles (pop. 11,700) 41 km away, El Palmar (pop. 4,500) 44 km away, and La Esperanza (pop. 1,900) 56 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Divala (pop. 2,500) located 59 km from the epicenter, Progreso (pop. 2,200) 60 km away, Pedregal (pop. 17,400) 71 km away, La Concepcion (pop. 17,700) 73 km away, and David (pop. 82,000) 77 km away.
