An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred only 11 minutes ago 6 km north of Chiba, Japan, Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 69.7 km beneath the epicenter near Chiba, Chiba-shi, Japan, after midnight on Monday 22 March 2021 at 12:30 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
