The 21-year-old suspect in Monday’s deadly shooting at a Colorado grocery store is making his first court appearance. Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is facing 10 counts of first degree murder. More than 500 people gathered the night before outside the Boulder court house at a candlelight vigil to remember the victims of the shooting. Earlier in the day, hundreds of people gathered to pay respects to Officer Eric Talley – who was one of the 10 killed in the shooting and the first officer on the scene – with police and fire personnel lining the roads as his body was taken to a funeral home. Authorities warned an investigation into the shooting would take some time. Monday’s tragic event marked the second mass shooting in the United States in less than a week, prompting new calls for gun control legislation.
