Light magnitude 4.9 quake hits 110 km southeast of Isangel, Vanuatu early morning

The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.9 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Isangel (pop. 1,400) located 110 km from the epicenter.
