(MENAFN) Over the past 24-hour period as of Sunday, the overall figure of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 528,859 as 19,906 more patients tested positive for the virus, while in the meantime, a number of 410 new patients succumbed to the disease, lifting the national death toll to 15,685, the country's federal Health Ministry announced.
Meanwhile, a total of 309,713 patients walked out of local hospitals after showing full recovery, health officials from the ministry declared.
According to the ministerial statement, "As on 8:00 a.m. (local time) Sunday, 16,095 deaths related to novel coronavirus have been recorded in the country."
The 5th stage of a nationwide lockdown came into force since June 1, marking several relaxations and reopening in a phased manner.
The ministry added "The number of active cases in the country right now is 203,051."
